Aseem Chhabra is a freelance writer in New York City and New Delhi. He is the author of two biographies – Shashi Kapoor: The Householder, the Star and Priyanka Chopra: The Incredible Journey of a Global Bollywood Star.
Aseem has been published in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Hindu, Mumbai Mirror, The Indian Express, First Post, Rediff.com, Newslaundry and Scroll.in. He has been a commentator on Indian cinema on NPR, CNN, BBC, CBC, Good Morning America and Reuters.
He is the festival director of the New York Indian Film Festival. He is the voice of Shadow Puppet #1 in director Nina Paley’s award-winning animation film, Sita Sings the Blues.
Aseem has an MS degree in Journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and an MBA from Boston University.
